Stand Firm in Faith

God, Sunday Blog, Faith

1 Peter 5:8-9

“Be alert and of sober mind.  Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.  Resist him, standing firm in faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings.”

There is a major difference between thorough bred horses and donkeys when they are under attack.  The thorough bred horses come together in a circle, facing each other as they kick outward in unison.  The donkey’s on the other hand kick wildly out of sync causing as much harm to each other as they do the attacker.

When Christians fight over petty denominational differences they are like the Donkeys, causing as much harm to each other as their attackers.  I challenge you to major on the majors and let go of the minor things that are insignificant.  Stand firm in faith and render the enemy of our souls powerless.
