Carry An Extra Pair Of Shades

Have you ever heard the terms “dream killer“ or “vision buster?” These are the people out there that will try to throw water on new ideas or get in the way of an exciting plan. This mindset will object to anything new or potentially exciting as a first response. They will come up with all of the possible reasons why it won’t work without any consideration for what actually could work.

As an entrepreneur that is constantly trying to find a better way to do things, running into this is more than a daily occurrence. Here are a few thoughts on how to deal with vision busters:

1) Don’t take it personally. Their mindset actually has nothing to do with you or your idea. It’s a reflection of how they view themselves and how they view the world of opportunity.

2) Every objection and challenge is preparing you and shaping you for the next season of your life. Use their feedback to make you better.

3) Remember that other people’s perception of you is none of your business.

If you are going to chase something huge, you are going to disrupt some things. If you turn your light up to it’s max watt, it will be too bright for some people. But instead of dimming your light to accommodate others, carry an extra pair of shades.
