Achieving Optimal Smoothie

health, diet

As a follow up to my blog post last week titled “The Superfood Challenge,” I wanted to share my favorite morning smoothie recipe.  A smoothie is a great way to cram multiple great superfoods into one drink that will provide your body with a plethora of vitamins, phytochemical, micronutrients and antioxidants that will serve as rocket fuel for the day. Here is my favorite smoothie recipe:

Achieving Optimal Smoothie

1) 1 cup of either frozen spinach or kale
2) 1/2 cup of either carrots or sweet potato
3) 1/2 of an avocado
4) 1/2 of either banana or apple
5) 1/2 cup of either blue berries, strawberries, raspberries, blackberries or goji berries
6) 1 tablespoon of almond butter
7) 1 ounce of either walnuts or cashews
8) 1/2 ounce of either sunflowers seeds, chia seeds or flax seeds
9) 1 tablespoon of Cacao powder
10) 1/2 tablespoon of Maca powder, Açaí powder and bee pollen
11) 1/2 tablespoon of natural honey and a dash of Erythritol natural sweetener

Optional Extra’s: celery, raisins, other frozen vegetables

There is not a breakfast restaurant in the world that would serve you all of these awesome superfoods wrapped into one meal.  I encourage you to do some research and test until you find the right superfood smoothie for you.
